How do I update app from version beta.12

This article is about broken backward compatibility in the TradingView Desktop app for Windows. Versions for other platforms are not affected.

TradingView Desktop starting with version beta.13 (1.0.0.2062) is not backward compatible with earlier versions. This means that beta.13 and later versions can’t be installed as an upgrade to version beta.12 (1.0.0.1906) or earlier. You should uninstall the app and then install the most recent version available for download here. After installing beta.13 or later, all upcoming releases will be installed automatically as usual. See detailed instructions on reinstalling the app below.

How to reinstall the application

  1. Open the Settings app and go to Apps & features in there.
  2. Use the search bar to spot the TradingView app on the list.
  3. Select the app and click Uninstall, then confirm to complete the uninstalling process.
  4. Open tradingview.com/desktop in your browser and download the app for Windows (it should be an .appinstaller file).
  5. Run the app installer file, make sure that it’s going to install version 1.0.0.2062 or higher, and click Install.
  6. You’re all set. Run the app and enjoy!
