4H CCI Strategy 1.4Here's the last version...quick hack job.
I'm sure it can be improved, but this is a rough sketch, code wise.
The strategy works in range bound enviroments, so cointegrated pairs like AUDCAD will shine with it.

4H CCI Strategy 1.3Still working on fixing the code 100%.
Will update with a new version soon.
This one's fine tuned for gold (tp and sl size, and contract size for a 100k account)

4H CCI StrategyJust a test...I'm not sure this will work 100%. I think the backtest is flawed (the exit parameters look suspicious)
Anyway, the strategy does make sense, maybe in live trading it'll toss good signals.
Can we apply it to our demo account here? (trading panl) Anyone?
CCI with averagesI coded this indicator to adapt a few techniques I learned from Constance Brown to CCI, which is a very good momentum indicator which gives great signals if you know how to read them.
I plotted a few examples on the chart.
As you can see, it complements a trader's bar chart reading skills nicely if applied correctly.
Hope you can find it of use.
Cheers,
Ivan.
Commodity channel index x2 v1Slightly enhenced CCI. Take a look how difference between slow and fast CCI displayed as histogram can predict possible reverse.
EDIT: fast = 14, slow = 28 works better.

***I was asked if you could plot Back Ground Highlights on Two Individual Indicators AND have it show if BOTH Indicators were Overbought and Oversold.
***The answer is Yes. On the Chart Above I have the same Shade of Red and Green for Both Indicators. However, you will notice when Both Indicators Show OverBought…Both Plot Red Back Ground Highlights Which = a Brighter Red. The same is True for Oversold Conditions. The Green Shows a Brighter Shade of Green.
***VERY IMPORTANT - It is difficult for a programmer to release Indicators with this feature because depending on what color background you use on your charts…THE COLORS LOOK COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. So If You Don’t Use The Black Back Ground Shown Above You Most Likely Will Need To Adjust The Transparency, and Possibly The Colors Themselves!!!!

CCI strategy The Commodity Channel Index (CCI) is best used with markets that display cyclical or
seasonal characteristics, and is formulated to detect the beginning and ending of these
cycles by incorporating a moving average together with a divisor that reflects both possible
and actual trading ranges. The final index measures the deviation from normal, which indicates
major changes in market trend.
To put it simply, the Commodity Channel Index (CCI) value shows how the instrument is trading
relative to its mean (average) price. When the CCI value is high, it means that the prices are
high compared to the average price; when the CCI value is down, it means that the prices are low
compared to the average price. The CCI value usually does not fall outside the -300 to 300 range
and, in fact, is usually in the -100 to 100 range.
