For the uninitiated in crypto, bridges are one of the biggest failure points when bridging assets from one network to another. They are usually slow and buggy and are targets for hackers. And ICP solved this problem singlehandedly by eliminating the need for them.
The coins actually have value because they are integrated on a code level to have voting power over the things they vote on, while on other networks the so called voting coins are more like suggestions.
