Elon Musk concludes in his last already famous tweet: "We are also looking at other cryptocurrencies that use <1% of Bitcoin’s energy/transaction.”

Dogecoin is mined with Scrypt, which is said to be significantly more energy efficient than the ultra-complex SHA-256 bitcoin mining algorithm.

But can we say that Doge falls within this criterion of "other crypto-currencies spending less than 1% of the energy used by Bitcoin transactions" ? Not so sure :0)
