Futures & Options data analysis & view for 21-April

In our previous post we had suggested to be on side lines and do not indulge in trading Nifty for the day. And it wasn’t a bad decision after all. Nifty ended the day flat closing at 9262.

Let’s see what we have got today.

FIIs net bought 3.9K Contracts in Index futures worth Rs 245.14 Cr

Futures
- FIIs added 3.2K Future Long contracts & 696 Short contracts were squared off by them

- Retail participants exited from 4.65K Long contracts & added 1733 Short contracts

- Pro traders added 2789 Long contracts & added 552 Short contracts

FIIs & Pro traders were Net buyer while Retail participants were Net sellers

Option data analysis

Call option

- FIIs bought 548 Calls & 3K Calls were shorted by them

- Retail traders bought 89.45K Calls & 59.7K Calls were shorted by them

- Pro traders bought 16.8K Calls & 44.09K Calls were shorted by them

Put options

- FIIs went Long in 906 Put Contracts & exited 795 contracts from Short position

- Retail participants bought 56.6K Puts & shorted 52.3 Put contracts

- Pro traders bought 23.4K Puts & shorted 29.5 Put contracts

Important Support levels 9180 / 9130 / 9066 / 9030

Important levels on upside 9320 / 9360 / 9435

On any dips, watch out for 9160-9180 levels. If that level is held then Long positions can be considered for positional targets of 9435 / 9620
