Here is an interesting chart to ponder. I like to do a lot of ratio stuff/ intermarket analysis etc. From my research i cant deny that crypto has developed a correlation with precious metals recently. I attribute this relationship to money searching for a safe haven . Gold and BTC were completely uncorrelated during the runup from 2016 -2017. During 2019 the correlation became closer and BTC seemed to lead because of mania and uncertainty in the metals markets. After covid we clearly have metals leading and BTC following almost in lockstep. This is a chart of silver in purple over BTC. What is worth noting here on this chart is not the percentage gain but the technical relative position. Notice that silver took out nearly a decade of prior highs on that move while BTC took out 3 recent highs. My feeling now is we are heading into a different financial picture altogether... one with higher interest rates. I cant say whether the correlation will hold but my feeling is it will break as it did before because when the sh*t really hits the fan there really is only one safe haven asset you can trust, and 7 billion humans already trust. Gold. I do think there will be a great buying opportunity when BTC/GOLD ratio = 1:1 just as btc bull market started when the ratio passed 1:1 ... it will end when it goes below 1:1. Next shoe to drop is the tether investigation. Tether is the basis for the entire ponzi scheme and will bring down the house of cards once its exposed in federal court.
