Ballard Power Systems Inc. is a Canadian fuel cell manufacturer based in Burnaby near Vancouver, British Columbia. According to the Handelsblatt, Ballard Power Systems is the global market leader in the fuel cell industry.

The Strategy:
From a chart technical point of view, it would be desirable for the price to cool down and correct itself somewhat after the run of the last weeks. With such a course reset, the handle of the "Cup and Handle" would be able to form. With or without this preceding correction, a new pro-cyclical buy-signal is generated when Ballard convincingly rises above USD 15 on a daily closing basis. In this case a new projection target would be activated at USD 19.61.

The Fundamentals:
Ballard supplies fuel cells for buses of the Belgian manufacturer Van Hool and the Polish manufacturer Solaris, among others, and is also planning to use them in trains of the Mireo series from Siemens starting in 2021. At the end of 2019 Ballard received an order for fuel cells for use in large dump trucks from the mining company Anglo American. At Ballard Power Systems Europe, based in Hobro (Denmark), fuel cells are developed and produced for use in ships. Together with Audi, Ballard is developing fuel cells for cars. The development partnership is contractually agreed at least until 2022. In addition to drives for vehicles, fuel cell systems are manufactured for installation in standard 19-inch housings as an alternative to conventional technologies such as batteries or generators, with the aim of implementing uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and emergency power generators. In January 2020 Ballard announced that it will supply systems for emergency power supply of mobile phone base stations in Germany in cooperation with the companies AdKor and SFC Energy. Ballard is supplying 500 fuel cell stacks in a first tranche. In Norway, a system for mobile phone base stations has been installed since 2019, which ensures a network-independent power supply for up to 72 hours. In addition, fuel cell systems for drones are being tested, which, compared with pure battery operation, should allow significantly longer operating times with little dependence on the outside temperature.
