Product and Development DAOs Receive the Most Funding in 2022

A study of the state of DAO funding released by blockchain researcher Messari shows that as DAOs have grown, many have adopted a workgroup structure to allocate internal workforces. The 10 DAOs covered allocated $102 million from DAO coffers for internal DAO workforces throughout 2022. More than 58 percent of that amount was spent on product and development costs, with the second largest category being growth (22 percent). Each category and its specific components play a critical role in determining DAO's long-term success.
The report also says that in order to remain competitive with traditional organizations in attracting and retaining top talent, DAOs should explore innovative funding methods.
