Patience is the name of the game. Trading is a game of waiting. Waiting for the setup to form and waiting for the trade to play out. Sometimes the best thing a trader can do to overcome the urge to trade is to sit on your hands and/or walk away. I like to trade around the close of significant time frames, session openings and closings, and news. If I'm using the 4h close there are only 6 candles in a day and only a few of those meet my trading criteria. This limits my trading and helps protect me from myself. We all have our demons. By trading less, I protect myself and allow myself to maximize my gains by giving the trade a little extra time to play out.
